This week will be devoted to screenwriting. Whacked out one screenplay from a class assignment where we had to pick from a list of scenarios and write out a scene of no more than four pages. No big deal right? Guess again as the short form has its own sets of difficulties. We also have to start thinking about scripts our 16mm short film assignments. I've decided that I'll need to write everyday in order to keep the creative juices flowing, even if it's just one sentence or idea.

Director Robert Rodriguez (Desparado, Spy Kids) said it comes down to 1 percent inspiration, 99 percent persperation. Not much more to say at this point but to continue writing.

Now I will consume some empty calories. Bloody English diet.

For years, I avoided keeping a weblog since many of those in existence seemed to be more about a pathological need for attention or self-indulgence, therefore drowing out sites with something to say.

However, the medium has evolved -perhaps I've evolved enough to take it seriously. A friend I used to work with over the summer gave me a list of sites worth reading, which was partly instrumental in restoring my faith in the blogger world. So I'll give this a try.

Another reason is I'm studying at the London Film School and am interested in posting problems and perspectives in making films to filmmakers and the public alike, along with event announcements for UK-based readers. This blog will remain semi-professional as I view it a personal extension of my film-based work. Not to say I won't write about non-school events but I feel over-reporting of personal lives is a misuse of confidence.

The first week of the Fall Semester is over. Thought I would began this blog sooner (actually before I left the states) but became too wrapped up in affairs related to school and accomodation. Gotten use to riding the London Underground, discovering that many British women have an innovative way of storing their tickets without having to store it in their handbags or pockets -using their cleveages (Take that Jordan!). Mind the gap.
